One of my favorite places to visit in the greater Los Angeles area is the stunningly beautiful Huntington. Located in the posh town of San Marino a little east of Pasadena, CA, this little slice of paradise stands testament to the luxury and power of the super-rich. Built in the late 19th century in the Beax-Arts style, the main building holds an amazing collection of European fine arts. A massive research library holds exhibitions of an exquisite collection of rare manuscripts, illustration, and printing that spans the whole of written history. TheRose Hills Foundation Conservatory for Botanical Science is a gorgeous building that houses many rare and exotic plants. I love the contrast of ancient cycad plants with the lovely modern glass and metal building.
