Built in 2015 for the Panama-Pacific International Exhibition and World’s Fair, the Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco is one of the most beautiful beautiful Beaux-Arts style buildings in California. Built on a monumental scale, it’s impossible not to feel dwarfed by the height of the columns and the vastness of the space within the dome. This rather etherial photograph was taken with my cell phone at JUST the right moment, when the plants were being watered and mist was rising through the columns of the rotunda.
Today, the building is currently being used as a community facility with maker spaces, art exhibitions, historical displays, and spaces for classes, learning, and fun. Learn more about the building here.
