In November of 2011, I visited Munich, Germany and found myself beneath the New City Hall, or Neues Rathaus in the heart of the Marienplatz, or St. Mary’s Square. There was so much construction happening on the square, that I couldn’t hear the glockenspiel playing. I watched the show, until the golden rooster at the top flapped its wings. I was there for several days, and went back to hear the bells, but no luck, the jackhammers thwarted me! Someday I’ll get back to Munich and hear them!
