In summer 2012, I had the opportunity to explore several of the shopping passages around Paris. These are the ancestors of the modern shopping mall, and provided Parisians the opportunity to visit their favorite stores located under a glass enclosed skylights. While some of these passages date back to the 18th century, these tiles only date back to 1900 or so.
