Botanical Building, Balboa Park, San Diego, April 2016

Built for the 1915 Panama-California Exposition, the Botanical Building, also called the “Lathe Palace” is filled with permanent and changing horticultural exhibits.  I think of this as the true jewel of Balboa Park.  The lily pond, building, and the collections it holds, are a delight, and best part?  It’s all free!  Just walk in and enjoy.  There are many things to see and do in San Diego, but Balboa Park is my favorite place to visit.  If you love flowers, there is a lovely rose garden, palm grove, and many more beautiful gardens tucked around the park.  Enjoy!
